Analgesics are the abortive medications in form of pain killers. For example, ibuprofen is also prescribed by your doctor as a stronger dose of a typical analgesic. A narcotic in a low dose like Tylenol with codeine are also combined with these abortive medications. If your headaches are frequent and occur more than twice a week, your doctor will not prescribe these. Analgesics can cause rebound headaches if taken too often and narcotics are addictive. Chronic recurrent headache sufferers do have other options with abortive medications. For moderate and severe strength headaches, a class of drugs called triptans are used the most.

Another medicine Sumatriptan is the most commonly prescribed which gas a brand name Imitrex. It is also believed that the triptans act on serotonin, can also reduce other chemical which leads to your pain in fact these chemicals flows in narrows blood vessels of your body. Ergotamine is also same type of prescribed as in triptans. But in this case these uneven chemicals found in brain. For which extremely severe headaches, opiates is choosy. FDA approved prescribed medications like valproic acid (brand name Depakene) and topiramate (brand name Topamax) for headache prevention, which has been proved.

Some how theses are very strong compositive strong drugs with lot more side effects. No matter what, beginning of therapy treatment is the significant role to play in near future. So it will be distractive for both doctors and victims, if they meet each other with a headache problem.
