Friday, 11 May 2007

There may be a time in your life when you will have the need to rent a portable washer and dryer combo. Perhaps you will be required to relocate due to your job and are unable to take your household appliances with you. Maybe you will temporarily transfer to a new location to work on a special project.

Many people who are just starting out, and have not built sufficient credit to obtain financing, find that renting household appliances is a good choice. Those who have poor credit and want to improve their credit score, find that appliance rental companies provide an opportunity to start over. Mainstream rental companies such as Aaron's and Appliance Warehouse of America; provide solutions to customers who are credit challenged. Most do not require credit checks and the rental process is relatively simple. Generally, you will have your rental items within 24 hours.

You can rent a portable washer dryer combo from nearly every major household appliance company. Most allow you to pay weekly, bi-monthly or monthly. If you have a checking account, you can set-up automatic payments, which will be deducted directly from your account on pre-arranged dates.

Payment schedules can be arranged for 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months. Generally, when renting a portable washer dryer combo, the payment schedule is 24 months. This allows you to obtain low monthly payments to ensure you can deliver on your promise. If you are able to pay extra on your account, you can do so without any penalty. If you are able to pay off your balance early, oftentimes you will receive a lower buy-out rate.

For instance, if your rental purchase is $1200 and you spread it out over 24 months, your monthly payment would be $50, plus tax, financing and interest fees. Let's say, your monthly payment is $70.00. By the time you make all of your payments, you will have paid $1680.

If you are able to pay off the entire amount within 6 months, you may end up paying around $1300. If you pay it off in 12 months, your total pay-out might be around $1450.

Rental companies usually charge a higher price for rental items. You might end up paying 20 to 30 percent more for a portable washer dryer combo at a rental company, than you would pay for it if you went to a retail outlet.

Rental companies are taking on a high risk. They work with people who do not have healthy credit. Some of their customers do not make payments and they have to send people to their homes to retrieve the goods. The companies have a high overhead and risk factor and they must pass those costs along to consumers.

Rental companies are a good option if you need to rent a portable washer dryer combo on a short term basis. Most rental companies will allow customers to rent any type of furnishing or household appliance for as little as one month, and up to one year.
